Be very careful of people claiming this. Some beat their chest claiming veteran status. When in fact they are riding the coat tales of true veterans. Like a Chihuahua snatching up crumbs dropped to the floor.  Litmus Test. Question #1- Where did you deploy and when? Question #2- What unit where you in? If you get the response of,  "I never deployed and I was never in a unit. I broke my hip during basic before I was med dropped."    Yeah weak sauce, technically you are a veteran because you where in the military longer than 10 weeks. But,...

1. Attempt to put the weapon on safe.     If there is no safety or the weapon does not go on safe, go to step 2. 2. Remove the source of feed. (take the magazine out) 3. Lock the slide to the rear. 4. Conduct a 3x point check. (Chamber,Slide face, and Magazine well) Note: All steps done with weapon pointed in safe direction and finger off of the trigger
